I'm 54, married to the beautiful Carla, and a proud parent to three wonderful children. Outside of work I am passionate about nature, whether that's spending early mornings birding, supporting conservation initiatives or simply enjoying time outside immersing myself in the natural world. I'm an avid birder and twitcher, and I find that the patience and attention to detail required in the field often mirrors the qualities needed in my professional life.

I began my career in financial services in 1987, qualifying as a financial adviser in 1996. Over the years I developed extensive experience across the sector, eventually specialising as a mortgage and protection adviser. I work with all types of personal property finance which includes buy to let & limited company buy to lets. This allows me to focus wholly on the individuals and families within it.

What continues to interest me about this sector is the real lasting difference the right advice can make. I truly care about all my clients and take the time to understand their lives, their challenges and their ambition.

Hi, I'm Jamie. I live in Maldon with my wife, Jeanie, and our two cats, Sox and Jynx.

I've always had a strong appreciation for storytelling and creativity, with a particular fondness for comic books, movies, and the cinema. Whether it's following a long-running series, discovering something new, or simply enjoying the experience of a great film on the big screen, I love a well-crafted story. You'll often find me browsing upcoming releases to secure a seat on opening night of the latest blockbuster. Jeanie and I are also regular enjoyers of a bit of Disney magic, and we're frequent visitors to the parks, most-often Disneyland Paris.

I place a lot of value on personal challenges, no matter how big or small. At the beginning of each year, I set myself ambitious goals and focus my energy on seeing them through. From work to fitness and sport, continuous self-improvement is a key focus for me. I'm naturally curious and enjoy deepening my understanding of how things work, which probably explains my long-standing enjoyment of problem-solving… and a good old pub quiz!

In my working life, I get involved in all areas of property finance and protection insurance. I particularly enjoy working with investors and businesses, helping them build and grow property investments such as buy-to-let portfolios and property development.

I’ve been a mortgage broker since 2003, and mortgage advice is all I’ve ever done — because I genuinely love what I do and that’s reflected in the feedback that I get from clients, who often tell me that what sets me apart is how much I care about them and their outcomes.

Whether it’s helping a first-time buyer secure their first home, supporting a family moving up the property ladder, or ensuring a remortgage delivers the best possible deal, I’m committed to providing expert advice with a caring, attentive, and rather old-fashioned hand holding approach. Buying a home or borrowing money can feel overwhelming, so I make it my mission to simplify the process, explain every step clearly, and ensure a smooth, stress-free experience from first chat to completion.

I particularly enjoy solving the challenges that the self-employed and business owners face when trying to secure a mortgage. Understanding the nuances of self-employed lending, along with taking the time to know your circumstances properly means I can translate complex business accounts, director dividends, net profits and retained earnings into a language that lenders speak. Over my 20 plus years in this great industry I’ve built up strong relationships with the specialist underwriter-led lenders who value an experienced broker taking the time to properly present an application. Leveraging these relationships means I assist with scenarios such as; only one years’ self-employed history, needing to use profits before tax, bringing pension contributions back into the accounts, declining profits or using just the latest set of figures to secure the loan.

Outside of working too many hours I’m very much a family man spending time with my two daughters whilst enjoying the great outdoors. Weekends are generally spent outside, from long walks or cycles typically ending with a good pub lunch, to pottering around the garden for hours and annoying my wife by wanting yet another bbq.
